Meet Manju Pillai

My journey into tutoring began in a very personal way. When my own daughter successfully got into Wallington Girls’ High School many years ago, I experienced first-hand how confusing and overwhelming the 11+ process can be, and how expensive. That experience shaped everything I do at Pillai Tutors. I keep our fees lower than most because I genuinely believe quality education should be affordable. I also help parents understand each step of the application process, as I know it can sometimes be quite confusing.

For over 15 years, we’ve been privately coaching students to prepare for the 10+ and 11+ entrance exams to grammar and independent schools across London, Croydon, Sutton, Kingston, Kent, and Bromley. We specialise in Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and over the years, we’ve had the joy of helping thousands gain admission to some of London’s top schools.

Our approach differs because we focus on reducing stress and building confidence. We nurture each child, so they feel prepared, motivated, and empowered, not just for the exam, but for the path ahead. In fact, many of our students return to us later for GCSE and A Level support because of the trust and bond we have built together.

Today, with hundreds of students currently enrolled and a team that shares my passion, Pillai Tutors has grown into a learning community. But at the heart of it all, it’s still very personal to me: one child, one family, one success story at a time.
